Sheringham (not to be confused with Sherington - 100 miles away) is a traditional fishing town, where they still launch their fishing boats from the beach. The town was mentioned in the Domesday book in 1086, when it was known as Silingham. It later became Siringham and then Sheringham. It is now home of the North Norfolk Steam Railway. | ||||||
