A lot of people would go to Great Yarmouth from Sherington because it was a flat and easy going ride on a coach. There used to be a coach leave Sherington called the Great Yarmouth Express. It only took 18 passengers and averaged a speed of 20 miles an hour.It would take 6 hours to travel the 120 miles there leaving at around six in the morning arriving at lunchtime, giving 4 hours there and leaving at 4.00pm to arrive back at around 10.00 pm. The journey was considered almost important as the day spent there sitting on the promenade. |
