EDUCATION THROUGH FUN

There are many ways in which the Community Forest provides education whilst having fun. At the Forest Centre there is a purpose built classroom and experienced staff to assist schools and other organisations with projects and field trips. During the summer holidays there is a programme of events for children including poetry, stories, crafts, cycling, walking, puzzles and kite-making.

Also there is an established club for young people aged between 8 and 13 called The Marvals. Again this provides education and fun with organised crafts and exhibitions (i.e. wood turning etc.) to encourage young people to have an interest and wide understanding of the countryside in which they live. Special events, i.e. Christmas activities, are regularly organised.
