"The annual outing of the choir and ringers of the parish took place on Friday
August 25th. A long and pleasant day was spent in London. The greater number spent the morning in taking a trip up the river to Battersea Park. An excellent dinner was provided at Gatti's Restaurant in the Strand. A visit was then paid to the Hippodrome by those who were fortunate enough to gain admission for, owing to the great crush of people, some were unable to obtain even standing room. A journey was then made to the exhibition at Earl's Court, where tea was provided. A very enjoyable evening was spent in the grounds. The majority of the party arrived home in the early hours of the Saturday morning, but a few returned by an earlier train".
