The Swan Bus

An omnibus operated from the Swan, linking Olney, Newport Pagnell and Wolverton. It was nick named the Swan Bus because the Swan's horses and carriage were used. The bus met all of the trains at Newport Pagnell train station. By this time, the Swan was a Commercial Inn and Posting House and Agent for the London and North Western Railway Company. The Swan Bus is the carriage on the left.

The Swan horses were used to pull the town's fire engine until 1912.
