Reg died in 1976, weeks before his 94th birthday.
The business was left to Cecil's children, John (Jack) and Evelyn (Lyn). Neither had followed their father into the family business. Jack had pursued a career in the Police and Army and was now working for Reuters Press Association. Lyn was in the nursing profession. They decided not to give up their present occupations, but to spend weekends in Newport Pagnell.
