SCU - Whaddon Hall | ||||||

Whaddon Hall became the headquarters of the Special Operations Group of the Special Communications Unit Number 1 in 1939. This was under the command of Brigadier Richard Gambier-Parry. Whaddon Hall had its own receiving and transmitting stations situated in the extensive grounds.
In the aerial view below you can see a line of Nissen Huts behind the Hall that were used for the sending and receiving of messages. |
