"After the shop closed in 1990 the cellars were stripped, the soil floor dug up and concreted. During the work in one area, where we used to keep mowers, a well was found. We always knew one was down there but it was a very unusual one, there being a brick trap about 10 feet deep and then an archway through to the main well which was about 32 feet deep with running water to a depth of 4 feet."
