William Cooper and Horace Samwell turned the premises into a carpentry shop and making poultry houses by day. During the evening Mr. Cooper loaded his Ford model T pickup and went round the local farmers to sell them.

Other products followed including the Phoenix Sheep Rack, Hay Sweep. His business grew and soon they were trying to meet the growing need for a repair and spare parts service.

Manufacturing Works 1927.
You will notice from the 1928 picture left, that the building has changed very little over the last 70 years. This show's some of the equipment displayed outside on market day. A cattle market was held every wednesday morning. The animals were tethered just inside Bury Gate shown to the left of this picture.
This picture was taken in 1928, and one of the only pictures I've been able to find that show's Bury Gate, the entrance to Bury Field.
