Here is a selection of photographs of Bletchley Fire service.
David Ennals, the then Secretary of State for Social Services, visited Bletchley Fire Station in the 1970's. The photograph on the right shows Mr. Ennals and firefighters by Bletchley railway station , at the rear of the fire station.
An old fire tender is shown here, in the Fire Station's front yard.
On the right, a firefighter demonstrates breathing apparatus to Mr. Ennals.
The photograph on the left shows a fireman taking part in a firefighting demonstration during a fire station Open Day in the 1970's.On the right ,a more recent photograph reflects the continuing popularity of these Open Days.They are usually held in early September and raise money for the Firefighters' Benevolent Fund.
