The Tin-Man

In 1978/79 a character, the Tin-Man from the story Wizard of Oz, was sited in Beanhill. This community project was organised by Liz Leyh, resident artist for Milton Keynes Development Corporation. Other artists, Lesley Bonner and Michael Grabowski, were involved in the completion of the project.

Pupils from Copperfield school painted a Mural with the Yellow brick road theme, (art-no-more), on underpass walls leading into Beanhill. Today the Tin-Man, owned by MKC housing landscape, sitting in a play area, his view has changed, trees have grown and the bungalows now have pitched instead of flat roofs.
