The Owl and the Pussycat was sited in Netherfield in 1977, Liz Leyh led this project with the help from other artist's in Milton Keynes.
Each piece belonged to a theme, The owl and pussycat nursery rhyme. The whole nursery rhyme was etched into concrete opposite the pot of honey and stacks of money, a pea green boat was there to sit in upon the blue concrete sea. Sadly due to it's age and construction this artwork had a life span, which recently for safety reasons ran out, it was partially removed in 2000. A new project, Alphabet Park is to interlink the remaining pieces as a celebration of past art and a fresh look to the future. |
