During this time, swimming became a part of the curriculum of the Boys School, though there was no swimming for the Infants. For the weekly swimming lesson, the boys would walk to the Cedars School to use their pool. The lesson would last about 20 minutes before they had to dress and walk back to Beaudesert. The summer of 1958 was the last year the Beaudesert boys swam at the Cedars pool.In January 1959, Beaudesert became Infants only, with the older boys transferring to Brooklands school.Brooklands was a purpose built school with its' own swimming pool on site. |
