The bell was covered in paint and over 80 years worth of grime. Jim Meager, Deputy Headmaster at the time, tried to clean it but the job was too big for even a willing amateur. The Rotary Club were approached and agreed to fund the cost of the restoration. It took 'Rotarian' Austin Farrell three weeks to clean, polish and restore the bell to its' former glory. | |
