We have no record of the date on which Miss Harris introduced the 'House ' system into the Infants' School. We do know that she added a fourth House, Ladybirds,in the 1960's. The importance of sport to the 'House' system changed with the closing of Beaudesert Boys' School. The emphasis has shifted from sport, to that of respecting and caring for yourself and others around you. The academic reasons still stand of course. At the end of each week the Captains of the team with the most points is presented with a Cup decorated in the colours of that team. Another change is that now, when placing pupils in their House teams, siblings are always allocated to the same House. | |
