The church dates back to the 14th century and is situated on top of the hill on the West Haddon Road.
It has a tower and on the tower a clock commemorating the reign of Queen Victoria and the Coronation of King Edward VII. There is a south facing porch and on the north side of the chancel a unique outside shrine which forms the outer portion of the memorial to a priest , presumed to be John Dyson, who was rector from 1445 to 1479. The figure in alabaster lies in the sanctuary.
Extensive alterations were carried out in 1908.
The church tenor bell was always rung at noon and rung at the induction of a new Rector until 1914.
