Edward Henry Cufaude was born onthe 28th of February 1890. He was the son of John and Fanny Cufaude. He lived in School lane, Yelvertoft.

He came from Crick but moved to Yelvertoft and started at the village school on the 8th August 1895. He must have left school for some reason because he started again on 27th October 1902.

He left school finally on 20th February 1903 to go to work.

When the war came he joined up and was killed in action on the 22nd of September 1917, Whilst serving with the 9th Batallion of the Suffolk regiment.

He was 26 years old.

He is buried in the St. Patricks cemetary, Loos, France.
