The new school opened in September 1974 with 134 children on the roll. It was eventually to be part of a new housing development but initially it was on a building site and only had a temporary access road. Concern was expressed at a number of the School Managers’ meetings over the next few years about the state of the access road and the safety of the footpath from the main road.

The move from the old overcrowded building into a brand new school full of new furniture and equipment meant a big change for staff and pupils alike. They now had enough classrooms for all the classes, a properly equipped hall for PE and the luxury of central heating, and indoor toilets!

On the 29th of November 1974 the school was officially opened by the Lord Bishop of Buckingham, the Right Reverend Simon Burrows.
