1893- SSM founded by Father Herbert Kelly
1902- Missionary work stated in S . Africa 1903- SSM set up the main centre and Theological college at Kelham, Nottinghamshire 1914-1919 - Kelham Hall occupied by military forces during the First World War. 1919-1925- Years of recovery after chaos left by military occupation in Kelham. 1928- Great chapel built in Kelham to take place of the entrance court. 1929- Kelham Rood completed 1939-1945- Military units stationed at Kelham during Second World War. 1962- SSM reaches numerical peak of more than 80 members and a large novitate 1972- Theological college at Kelham closes as numbr of student applications drop. SSM decides to take 'time out' for rethinking future of SSM. 1973- A subgroup of SSM move to Willen to run priory 1997- SSM members move out of Willen priory to a smaller house in Willen. |
