A Whiting Wedding
A Whiting wedding was a very special event. Here one of Harry's nieces is marrying a young man from the Adams family, another big local farming family in the 1890s. All of the Whiting brothers are here along with many of the cousins and aunts etc.
The party are gathered in front of Joseph's farmhouse near Moulsoe, (a building now forming part of the Courtyard Hotel near Junction 14 of the M1). Notice how very smart the clothes, how polished their shoes are and how clean they look! Look at the wonderful hats and dresses the ladies are wearing. They are absolutely, the height of fashion in the 1890s.
