		John Benthall wrote several books and pamphlets including: Remarks on Westminster School 1842 Lectures on the Liturgy , in three series, addressed to his pupils, and dedicated by permission to the Bishop of Exeter, 1842-3. Songs of the Hebrew Poets in English Verse, 1879 Gleanings in the Harvest Field, or Thought in Verse on portions of the Church Services 1882, Notes on the history of Willen, was in preparation for presentation to the Bucks Archaeological and Architectural Society in 1888, when he died.
