In the 1940s country dances were performed as part of the May Day celebrations these included the Floral Waltz and the Minuet.
Lorna Lattimore, the Headmaster's daughter writes:

"My Mother taught them a dance and made the pink and blue dresses. It was performed annually for a rew years. Real flowers were sewn on the hoops. The dresses were pink and blue, crepe paper frills on muslin over girls' own dresses."
