Milton Keynes Theatre opened in October 1999. It features a specially designed mobile acoustic ceiling which may be lowered, thus cutting off the upper and lower balconies to created a more intimate setting. The square in front of the theatre, known as Margaret Powell Square is a focal point of outdoor performances.
						The terracotta, blue and gold colour scheme inside the theatre is inspired by the painter Yves Klein.
