The Salvation Army Years
This was built in 1915 for use as a Salvation Army Citadel and continued in use as such until 1967. The first Salvation Army Corps had come to Bradwell on 7th December 1893 and their original premises were in the 'Old Mill' around Thompson Street. When this was sold, in the early 1900s, the Citadel moved to what is now the Sid Telfer's site until its next relocation in 1915. |

Here you can listen to Olwen Crisp's recollections about the Salvation Army and its Citadel
Interestingly, the building is still a place of worship. Since 1987 it has been in use as the Faith Tabernacle.
