New Bradwell School has had many artists come into the classrooms to work with the children. Here are a few photo's to show the results.
Antony Holloway
Here is the pergola that Antony built. He then helped the children with designs that they carved into the columns of the pergola.
This is a close up of the carved leaf seats arranged around the planters on the pergola.
Jan O'Highway
Here is a detail of a piece which is made from tiles that have been painted with glaze and then fired. Jan was resident artist for some time and did many clay based workshops with the children. This is displayed in the dining hall.
Here are two examples of work Jan did with the children. These are displayed in the reception area of the School.
Laurie Barbour
Laurie was artist in residence for a time running art workshops and after School clubs.
Laurie returned to the School recently to do a paper workshop for the day. Here is an example of the kites and mechanical moving objects they made from paper.
Richard Tysoe
Richard is a poet and story teller who came into the School and visited each class telling spellbinding tales and fables.
Roger and Jill Kitchen
Jill and Roger have been visiting the School working with the children making lanterns and structures from witheys (long whippey Willow twigs) and tissue paper for the Wolverton lantern festival. Here are some of the children with the withey structures they have been making in the early stages.
The above examples are just a sample of the workshops and projects that have been carried out within the School.
