Gradually the old school fell into a state of disrepair. The Parish Council minutes made many references to the cost of the upkeep of the building.

Some of the functions would have transferred to the Memorial Hall, though alcohol was never allowed there.

Here it is seen during the late 1970's in a state of dereliction. The roof has lost many of its tiles, the windows are all broken and the bell tower has all but disintegrated.
