This web site gives the history of the Loughton National School which was built in 1867. It served the village as a school until 1915 and then as a community centre for many years after that. We hope to take you through the origins of the school, it's construction, pupils and staff and it's connection with Shenley School. We will show you its use as a community centre until it was renovated into a domestic dwelling. Finally, with the start of a new millennium, we shall compare our school of today with that of yesteryear.
