A tanker exploded in the centre of Lavendon.....

PC 7 Percy Wheeler is commended for his prompt attention to duty and courageous action in dealing with a petrol tanker which caught fire in the village of Lavendon, the tanker was loaded with 1,500 gallons of petrol.
