Robin left Husborne Crawley after he married Jean White, who came from West Hill in Aspley Guise, and they moved to Bedford Road in Aspley Guise. They had a son Martin who was born in 1963. Robin worked for many years, for the long established business, 'The Powage Press' in Church Lane, Aspley Guise before moving to Bedford to run a Post Office. After his retirement, Robin and Jean moved to Carlton in Bedfordshire and it was here that, sadly, Robin died but he returned to his roots in Husborne Crawley, as he was laid to rest in the churchyard at St James which was so well known to him as a child and later where later in his life he became a member of the Church Parochial Council. Jean moved back to Aspley Guise where she lived with her son, Martin, till her death . She too is laid to rest at St. James. |
