The Bride and Bridesmaids making final preparations at the Lych Gate
"I first met my husband in 1987 at a "Prince" pop concert in London. We then, by chance, met up again in Germany at another of his concerts and that is how it all began! At the time we weren't living in the area but my family lived in the Parish so after we were married we too moved back to live there at Highfield Farm.

We were married on 2nd December 1989 at 2.00pm by Rev Huband. On one of our many meetings with the Reverend, we had to fill out a compatability test. We were able to give all the same answers and so the Reverend asked if we had been cheating!

I arrived at the church in a horse and carriage, which was owned many years ago by Lilly Langtree. It was glass all around and drawn by four horses. I also had a carriage for the bridemaides (of which I had four). My mother made all the dresses. I bought the pink dupion silk for my dress from Selfridges in London and it cost £120.00.
We had our recepetion at Woburn village hall and for the dinner we had Christmas fayre. Three weeks before however the caterers had let me down. I was working at the BBC at the time and the catering manager there stepped in and offered to do the catering for me. They did a fantastic job and we all had a lovely time.
One thing I must mention, while I was at the alter my garter fell down and I had to hand it to Simon so he could put it in his pocket. He kept saying "What is it? What is it?", I just said with a tight lip, "Put it in your pocket!".
