View of Crawley church through the poppy fields
For many years the field next to the Church would provide a spectacular display of brilliant red poppies, with the church tower of St. James providing a beautiful backdrop. This lovely shot was always a favourite of local photographers. In the 90's however the poppies suffered a severe set back when they were sprayed to eradicate them in order to provide an improved crop yield. However they are now beginning to make a come back, albeit slowly, and hopefully this view will be enjoyed once again in years to come.
