The Little Brickhill Bypass
Opening the Bypass
When the road was opened on Tuesday 15th December, 1992, by the Minister of Roads and Traffic, High Ash Pupils buried a time capsule under the road.
The inscription reads:
THIS TIME CAPSULE WAS BURIED ON THE 15TH DEC 1992 AND THE CONTENTS COLLECTED BY THE PUPILS OF HIGH ASH SCHOOL LITTLE BRICKHILL ON THE OCCASION OF THE OPENING OF THE LITTLE BRICKHILL BY-PASS AND THE CLOSURE OF ROMAN WATLING STREET AFTER ALMOST 2000 YEARS.
An ex-pupil of High Ash remembers that they were surprised that High Ash was described as Little Brickhill. It could confuse whoever finds the capsule and its contents when they are discovered: perhaps in another 2000 years!
