The people who lived in Wavendon at this time, were a very close knit community. Their daily lives and activities were highly influenced by the landowners and upper classes. The village comprises of about 2,200 acres, and in 1911 had a population of 514.

In the early part of the 19th century, the terraced houses in Wavendon were brick built, with toilets being seperately built outside. Today we take all mod cons for granted.
