Order of Service - Page 3

HOME
Still stands his Cross, from that dread hour to this,
Like some bright star above the dark abyss;
Still, through the veil, the Victor's pitying eyes
Look down to bless our lesser Calvaries.
These were his servants, in his steps they trod,
Following through death the martyred Son of God:
Victor he rose; victorious too shall rise
They who have drunk his cup of sacrifice
O risen Lord, O Shepherd of the dead,
Whose Cross has bought them and whose staff has led,
In glorious hope their proud and sorrowing land

Commits her children to thy gracious hand.
THE PRAYERS
HYMN
1
Now thank we all our God,
With hearts and hands and
voices,
Who wonderous things hath
done,
In whom his world rejoices;
Who from our mother's arms
Hath blessed us on our way
With countless gifts of love,
And still is ours today.
2
O may this bounteous God
Through all our life be near us,
With ever joful hearts
And blessed peace to cheer us;
And keep us in his grace
And guide us when perplexed,
And free us from all ills
In this world and the next
All praise and thanks to God
The father now be given
The Son, and him who reigns
With them in highest heaven,
The one eternal God,
Whom earth and heaven adore,
For thus it was, is now,
And shall be evermore.
