In the 'Tower' hang 4 bells. The Treble bell is by James Keene and is inscribed with ' God Save Our King. 1634' The second bell is by Anthony Chandler and has 1670 on it. The third bell is inscribed "ABCD.QRS.DEFG.EF.W" and is from the 16th century. The Tenor bell is by Henry Bagley and the words " SOLI DEEO GLORIA PAX HOMINIBUS 1628" is inscribed on it. This means " TO GOD ALONE BE GLORY AND TO MEN PEACE." The framework for the bells is inscribed 1628 I.I. Unfortunatly the bells and the framework are in poor condition and cannot be rung to their full capacity. |
