REACTION OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF MILTON KEYNES AND GREENLEYS
OUR LOST HERITAGE

We did not want you Milton Keynes
We loved our country so,
Our 'Happy Morn' and 'Black Snail Lane'
We knew they'd have to go.

We know that changes must take place,
It happens everywhere
But why should we be singled out!
And why should it be here.!

We set ourselves against you all
Even before you came,
What awful snobs we musta been,
We hang our heads in shame.

We chatted up a few of you
Whilst waiting for the bus,
And found that to our great surprise
You're just like one of us.

We should remember we're not saints,
Pride goes before a fall
And though we may be rich or poor
The LORD GOD made us all

We did not want you MILTON KEYNES
But now we'd have you know
We welcome you with open arms
And hope you'll love us too,
And hope that love will grow

BEATRICE HALL.
