When the school was a First and Middle school, the Middle school would collect silver foil and silver milk bottle tops also funds were raised from sales and sponsored events which would go to help and train Guide dogs for the blind.

From the photographs which have been found in school the first guide dog was trained in the middle of the 1970's about 1975 - 76.
